27th International Prayer Meeting of the Youth began on Monday, August 1

The 27^th International Prayer Meeting of the Youth is taking place in Medjugorje with the theme “Be Merciful”. The official beginning of this Festival was on Ausgust 1, with Rosary at 6 pm led by Fr. Karlo Lovric, while Fr. Miljenko Steko, the Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, celebrated Holy Mass at 7 pm with 320 priests concelebrating. (photos)

Big cloth and theatre spectacle of community Cenacolo

All the time during the 27^th International Prayer Meeting of the Youth, all participants are able to write down on the cloth that is 100 meters long. Everyone is encouraged to write down their prayers, thanksgiving to God, intentions or some nice spiritual thoughts. The cloth will be presented on Friday, during the offering prayer in the closing Holy Mass.

Pilgrims from Mexico arrived for the 27th Youth Festival

The preparations for the 27^th Youth Festival are coming to its final, as this event gathers youth from all over the world. Late Fr. Slavko initiated this Festival in 1990, when only hundred people and few singers with a guitar gathered in the tent behind the church at that time. The number of participants increased each year and now exceeds all other events in Medjugorje.

Mountain Rescue Service Čitluk-Međugorje

Places of pilgrimages gather huge number of people throughout the year from all over the world. During such big gatherings, it is normal for the accidence to occur and there we have important role of different services, very often publicly not noticed, but so present, whose goal is to save human lives. Mountain Rescue Service is one of many who contribute to that.

The 27th Youth Festival to start

The August 1, the opening day of the 27^th Youth Festival is approaching, the event that late Fr. Slavko Barbaric initiated in 1990. Our radio hosted people who spoke about the history of this event, but also about Fr. Slavko’s relationship with the youth. Fr. Marinko Sakota, parish priest from Medjugorje, who has been conducting this Festival for the last few years said:

Testimony of Fr. Boris Dabo about Medjugorje

Missionary Fr. Boris Dabo was born on September 7, 1952 in Novalja at Croatian island Pag. He was ordained as a priest in Krk Diociese in 1979, and served for three years in Mali Losinj as the spiritual assistant. At his own request, with permission of Bishop Karmel Zazinovic, he went to Dublin to learn English and to be prepared for missionary work in Zambia, where he lives and serves since 1983.

Parishioners of Medjugorje parish celebrated Feast of St. James

Medjugorje parish celebrated on Monday, July 25, the feast of St. James, the Apostle, patron saint of this parish. Holy Masses in Croatian language were celebrated at 7, 8 am and 7 pm, while the main Holy Mass was celebrated at 11 am in the Garden opposite to the ruins of the old church. (photos)

Presentation of new book of Fr. Ante Vuckovic “Behold, your Mother”

New book of Fr. Ante Vuckovic”Behold, your Mother”, was presented on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the beautiful atmosphere of cloister of the Franciscan monastery of St. Anthony in Poljud, Split, Croatia. At the same time promotion and presentation and donation night for the project of volunteers “72 hours without compromises” took place. (photos)

Cyclists for peace: Međugorje – Padova, Padova – Međugorje route

Twelve members of Cycling Club Brotnjo, will begin their cycling pilgrimage on July 15, 2016 from Medjugorje to Padua. The idea of this pilgrimage belongs to Giancarlo Bordignone, Italian pilgrim who comes us leader and pilgrimage organiser to Medjugorje since 1985. Recently, he started organising pilgrimages of cyclists.

Novena to St. James, patron saint of Medjugorje parish

On Monday, July 25, we will celebrate the Feast of St. James, patron saint of Medjugorje parish. Medjugorje parish was established in 1892, and consecrated to St. James, patron saint of pilgrims. This parish was equal to all others in Herzegovina up to June 25, 1981, when Medjugorje and church of St. James became the place of gathering of millions of pilgrims from all over the world.

The 21st Seminar for Priests finished in Medjugorje

The 21^st Seminar for Priests was held in Medjugorje and there were 304 participants from 24 countries. The Seminar was concluded on Saturday, July 9, with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Marinko Sakota, the parish priest, who was leader of this seminar along with Fr. Damir Pavic, parish priest from Brestovsko, Bosnia.

Concert „Mother of Peace, pray for us“ to be held in Medjugorje

The thanksgiving concert to the Queen of Peace “Mother of Peace, pray for us”, with one of the greatest soprano singers today, Inva Mula, with Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, will be held on Tuesday, July 12, at 8.30 pm in the Hall of St. John Paul II in Medjugorje. The guest of this concert is Monija Jarak, mezzosoprano singer.
