On Monday, July 25, we will celebrate the Feast of St. James, patron saint of Medjugorje parish. Medjugorje parish was established in 1892, and consecrated to St. James, patron saint of pilgrims. This parish was equal to all others in Herzegovina up to June 25, 1981, when Medjugorje and church of St. James became the place of gathering of millions of pilgrims from all over the world.
Parishioners will prepare for this celebration with nine days of prayer and fasting, from Saturday July 16 to Sunday, July 24. The prayer programme will start each day at 6 pm with Rosary and will continue with Holy Mass at 7 pm. Representatives from various hamlets and communities from the parish will lead the Rosary each day:
