Last early Holy Mass at 6 a.m. will take place on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24. The evening prayer programme will start with the Rosary at 5 p.m., Holy Mass at 6 p.m. All priests participate in that Holy Mass that is why confessions on that day are only from 4 to 5.30 p.m. After the evening Holy Mass there will be live Nativity scene performance in front of the church of St. James. The vigil begins at 10 p.m. and will last until midnight when the Midnight Holy Mass begins.

The Apostolic Visitor for Medjugorje, Archbishop Henryk Hoser, had an encounter with the representatives of the families holding surname Vasilj from the parish of Medjugorje. On Sunday, December 16, the Apostolic Visitator for Medjugorje, Mons. Henryk Hoser celebrated Holy Mass in the church of the Merciful Jesus in Surmanci, along with the parish priest Fr. On Saturday, December 15, 2018, Novena to the Birth of Christ took place. Despite the bad weather and snow and rain, parishioners and pilgrims began their preparation for this year's Christmas, some of them even in the bare feet. The Rosary on the first day was led by Fr. Perica Ostojic. The rosary continues every day for nine days and the evening prayer programme is according to the schedule. (photos)

On Saturday, December 15, 2018, Novena to the Birth of Christ will begin in Medjugorje. Every day throughout those nine days there will be Rosary on Apparition Hill at 2 p.m. That is why on Friday, December 21, we will not pray the usual Way of the Cross on Cross Mountain, instead there will be Rosary on Apparition Hill.

Many parishes are in the festive atmosphere in these days, on Sunday, December 2, 2018, the first Sunday of the Advent was celebrated, the first candle was lit, and early Holy Masses began on Monday. Church of St. James is full to the last seat and in this Advent time there will not be other Holy Mass in Croatian language in the morning, as we will celebrate these Holy Masses for the intentions of your departed ones. On Sunday, December 2, the Advent begins with the First Sunday in the Advent. May this time of the Advent help us to reflect in the better way on our lives and to make decisions how to improve it even more. We will celebrate early Holy Masses in this time in the church of St. James at 6 am, every day except for Sundays. As it was the case in the previous years, in this time we will not have Holy Mass at 7.30 am, only early Holy Mass, when we will pray for your intentions and deceased ones.

On Saturday, November 24, 2018, parishioners of Medjugorje we will commemorate Fr. Slavko’s 18th death anniversary. Fr. Slavko was a priest who devoted his life to spreading of Our Lady’s messages in the world and to serving to all pilgrms. Fr. Slavko died on Cross Mountain on Friday, November 24, 2000, after having completed the Way of the Cross for the parish.

Launching of Fr. Antonio Sakota’s book, Holy Land – Book of Memories, took place in the monastery of Herzegovinian Franciscans in Dubrava in Zagreb, on November 22, 2018. Along with the author, there will be Fr. Tomislav Glavnik and Darko Pavicic as the presenters. Tambourine orchestra Misericordia from Surmanci, parish of Medjugorje, will perform at this event too.
