Walked from Karlovac to Medjugorje

63-years old Vera Lakatoš from Osijek and 64-years old Gordana Smitka from Zagreb, came to Medjugorje from Karlovac on Thursday, September 28, after 11 days of walking.

Three friends from Zagreb on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje

Three friends Kristijan Kezerić, Roberto Čergar and Roko Palić began their pilgrimage from Zagreb, Croatia on Saturday September 16. All three of them come from the parish of All Saints, Sesvete. When departing, they were blessed by the Auxiliary Bishops of Zagren, Mons. Ivan Šaško and Mons. Mijo Gorski, along with their parish priest Fr. Mario Miglesa. The Information Office registered in the last few days groups of pilgrims from the following countries: Ireland, England, the United States, Poland, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Brazil, Malta, South Africa, Lebanon, Costa Rica, Argentina, Belgium, Portugal, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, Switzerland, Mexico, Haiti, Scotland, Canada and Korea.

Pilgrimage of Medjugorje parish to Dubrovnik

Sarcophagus with incorrupt body of St. Leopold Bogdan Mandic shall be on a route from Padua, Italy to the birth - place of St. Leopold, Herceg Novi in Montenegro from Thursday, September 14 to Tuesday, September 19. While travelling, body shall remain in several Croatian Archdioceses, and Dubrovnik is one of them.

„This Cross was in God’s plan when it was built“

In Jubilee Holy Year of 1900th Anniversary of the Death on the Cross of our Saviour Jesus, that began in April 1933 and ended in April 1934, parishioners of Medjugorje parish, together with their parish priest Fr. Bernardin Smoljan, decided to do something that Holy Father Pius XI and local bishop Fr. Alojzije Mišić were advising them to do. It did not take them a lot to decide, and one evening, at the meeting of the parishioners held on January 21, 1934, they decided the following:

Fr. Matthias Nsamba wishes to spread the messages of the Queen of Peace in Africa

Fr. Matthias Nsamba was born in Uganda in 1970, and serves as a priest in South Africa. All he experienced in Medjugorje he wants to share with his faithful there, and that is how the idea of building the shrine of the Queen of Peace and Mercy, whose goal is to spread the messages of Our Lady in South Africa.

Walked from Velika Gorica to Medjugorje

Tomislav Lukšić, his wife Patricija and their friend Goran Ivančić walked from Velika Gorica to Medjugorje. It was 500 km long journey and it took them 15 days. They began their journey on August 12, early in the morning and came to Medjugorje on August 26. This is what Tomislav said about their pilgrimage:

Annual pilgrimage of Totus Tuus Community to Medjugorje

Totus Tuus Community organised their annual pilgrimage to Medjugorje from August 8-13. This was one of the most numerous pilgrimages with more than 200 participants of all ages. We began our journey on Monday late in the day and we spent five whole days in Medjugorje. After the morning Holy Mass on Sunday, we began our journey back home.(photos)

Change of the timetable of the evening prayer programme in Medjugorje

On Friday, September 1, the timetable of the evening prayer programme is changing in Medjugorje. The new schedule shall remain in force until May 31, the following year. Prayer of Rosary as of September 1 shall begin at 5 pm, while the Holy Mass shall be at 6 pm. After the Holy Mass, the ordinary daily programme shall follow.

Fr. Antonio–Mario Čirko: „I came to Medjugorje to renew my priesthood before Mary, as this is where my vocation was initiated”

Many pilgrims from all over the world come to Medjugorje during the summer months and many Croatians are among them too. All those pilgrims arrive here to be spiritually fed before returning to their homes and that is why from July 1 to August 31, there is one additional Holy Mass in Croatian language at 1 pm each day.

Jimmy Belabre in Međugorje

The first Mary's meals were distributed in Malawi in 2002, but the family MacFarlane-Barrow from Scotland who started this project says that Mary’s Meals are the fruit of Medjugorje. They came here in 1993 for the first time and during the war they were bringing humanitarian help from Scotland and later on, out of this, new global project for the help to the poorest ones, supported by many people throughtout the world, developed from it.  (photos)

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrated in Medjugorje

Several dozens of thousands of pilgrims arrived to Medjugorje on the occasion of the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Sixteen Holy Masses were celebrated on either in the church of St. James, Adoration chapel or the White Dome in many different languages. (photos)

Saturday, August 5, the last day of the Youth Festival

Saturday, August 5, was the last day of the whole-day programme of the youth Festival in Medjugorje. The morning programme began with the morning prayer led by Fr. Marinko Sakota, coordinator of the Festival and continued with the catechesis of Fr. Jacques Philippe from the community of Beatitudes.  (photos)

The 28th Youth Festival concluded with the Holy Mass of Thanksgiving on the top of Cross Mountain

The 28th Youth Festival was concluded with the Holy Mass of Thanksgiving, celebrated by the parish priest Fr. Marinko Sakota on the top of Cross Mountain on Sunday, August 6, at 5 am. The Youth Festival began on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 with the theme “That your love may grow more” and gathered dozens of thousands of young people from 61 countries. (photos)
