The Information Office Medjugorje has registered groups of pilgrims arriving in the mid September from Ukraine, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, the United States, England, Ireland, Canada, Spain, Belgium, France, Italy, Lebanon, Korea, Malta, Romania, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Poland and Brazil.
We had chance to talk to Zoran Bukur, pilgrim from Serbia, who arrived to Medjugorje for the fourth time.

This Sunday, September 11, is the day when the parish of Medjugorje celebrates the feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross. Holy Masses in the parish church of St. James are scheduled at 7 a.m.,8 a.m.12 p.m. and 6 p.m. Solemn Holy Mass on Cross Mountain is at 11 a.m. Holy Masses will not be held in the other churches belonging to the parish.
Number of Holy Communions: 311 400
Number of priests that concelebrated at Holy Masses: 6557 (211 per day)
The timetable of the evening prayer programme is changing as of Thursday, September 1. Rosary will be at 5 p.m., Holy Mass at 6 p.m., and all other prayer services after the evening Holy Mass depending on each day's schedule.
Marta Sanfelia and Antonio Gamiz, a couple from Barcelona, came this June to Medjugorje on a pilgrimage with all members of their family: 13 children and 36 grandchildren, and the reason of their visit was celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary. They came to Medjugorje in 2009, for the first time and ever since then, they keep returning here.
Two friends from Austria, Herbert Fuik from Graz and Herbert Fuchs from Vienna, placed in thanksgiving to Gospa wooden crosses on Cross Mountain on August 8, 2001. Those crosses were placed along bronze reliefs, work of famous Italian sculptor Carmello Puzzolo. These crosses were replacement of those that were there from the beginning and that god destroyed due to the weather conditions.
Marco Bonafaccia, 42, is a leader of prayer group that meets in basilica of St. Anastasia in Rome. He came on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje with his wife. Marco was our guest at the radio station Mir Medjugorje and he spoke about his experience of Medjugorje and prayer group he is leading. He said that he came here for the first time in 2002.

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was solemnly celebrated in Medjugorje, with many foriegn and domectic pilgrims who arrived for this occasion. Most of the pilgrims were youth, who arrived walking to Medjugorje during the night and solemn morning, when they confessed and took part in Holy Masses. (photos)
The President of Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, came to Medjugorje on a private visit when she also visited other towns in Herzegovina. During her three-days stay in Medjugorje, she visited places of prayer, church of St. James and Hill of apparitions of the Queen of Peace.
Group „Youth of Mary“ from Lebanon organised interfaith encounter in Medjugorje in duration of one week. The representatives of Sunni, Shiite, Maronite, Catholic and Orthodox religion from Lebanon, shared their experiences on interfaith life, as they all gathered around the Virgin Mary, the Queen of Peace. The 27th Youth Festival that began on August 1, 2016, was completed on Saturday, August 6, on the Feast of Transfiguration of Our Lord, with Holy Mass of Thanksgiving at 5 am, celebrated by Fr. Marinko Sakota, Medjugorje parish priest. The theme of this year’s prayer meeting was “Be merciful”, and dozens of thousands of young people from 69 countries came to Medjugorje.
The central event of this day, August 3, was the evening Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Ivan Penavic, newly ordained priest, member of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, while Fr. Ivan Ike Mandurić, member of Jesuit Society in Croatia, gave the homily. (photos)
