At the last daily apparition to Jakov Colo on September 12th, 1998, Our Lady told him that henceforth he would have one apparition a year, every December 25th, on Christmas Day. This is also how it was this year. The apparition began at 2:08 pm and lasted 10 minutes. Afterwards Jakov transmitted the message:

Cenacolo community in the last few years has been preparing the live nativity scene, something that attracts all parishioners and pilgrims who visit Medjugorje in this season of Christmas. The scenery is made of manger, inn, citizens of Betlehem, cattle, very authentic costumes and actors amateurs who play Holy Family, three magi and shepherds.

On the first Sunday of Advent, November 29, the parishioners of the parish of St. Elijah the Prophet from Studenci, came to Medjugorje on a pilgrimage. After the parish Holy Mass at 9 am, around 40 pilgrims decided to come to Medjugorje so their preparation for Christmas would be better. Before taking part in the evening prayer programme, they climbed Cross Mountain.

On Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Novena to the Birth of Christ will begin in Medjugorje. For nine days, the parish will pray the Rosary on Apparition Hill every day at 2 pm. This coming Friday, we will not pray the Way of the Cross on Cross Mountain, but Rosary on Apparition Hill. (photos)

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was solemnly celebrated in Medjugorje on Tuesday, December 8, all in the atmosphere of prayer. Along with the domestic pilgrims, there were groups of pilgrims from Italy, the United States, France, Ukraine, Latvia, Hungary, Spain, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina from two towns – Livno and Tomislavgrad.

The seminar for altar boys from the whole Herzegovina was held in Medjugorje from December 4 – 6, 2015 and it was conducted by Fr. Goran Azinović with the help of postulants. Every parish had few representatives. This seminar began with Rosary and the evening Holy Mass in the church of St. James. (photos)

Medjugorje is at the moment preparing for Christmas. As parishioners are preparing spiritually with early Holy Masses every day at 6 am, Betlehem is also being constructed in the area outside the church of St. James. Boys from the Cenacolo community are constructing this site for a few days now and all is being prepared for a live nativity scene that will be held on Christmas Eve and onwards. (photos)

The first Sunday of Advent, November 29, gave the opportunity for another candle to be lit during the Holy Mass at 9.30 a.m., and that is the beginning of the new community “Faith and Light”. Holy Mass was celebrated by the parish priest Fr. Marinko Sakota, and the idea for this was born in the Association for Aid to the Persons with Disabilities “Susret”, from Citluk, as well as from the International Pilgrimages for Persons with Disabilities in Medjugorje.

The choir “Queen of Peace” of the parish of St. James in Medjugorje celebrated this Tuesday, November 24, 2015, their 25th anniversary of their work. After the Holy Mass of thanksgiving celebrated by Fr. Mate Dragicevic, the programme continued in the Hall of St. John Paul II, when their new CD „Salve Regina” was presented as well as the memorial book of their work in these 25 years. (photos)

On Saturday, November 21, parishioners of parish Brestovsko, led by their parish priest Fr. Damir Pavic, came to Medjugorje on a pilgrimage. “There were about hundred of us. One whole bus was full of the Franciscan Youth, who came on this pilgrimage with the purpose of better preparation for the ceremony of solemn vows and promises held day after they returned home.
