At the last daily apparition to Jakov Colo on September 12th, 1998, Our Lady told him that henceforth he would have one apparition a year, every December 25th, on Christmas Day. This is also how it was this year. The apparition began at 2:45 pm and lasted 7 minutes.

Ivan Čolina (age 44, father of four children), a Croatian who lives and works in Bern (Switzerland), born in the Herzegovinian parish Kongora, fulfilled his vow: to come on bicycle from Bern to Medjugorje.

Ana Mlinarić fromVukovar, parish of St. Joseph the Worker, arrived to Medjugorje for the last Youth Festival. Ana said in her interview for medjugorje.hr that she has been coming here for the last 10 years in organised groups: „The bus of young people arrived with me, besides youth from my parish there are those from the other parts of Slavonija, around Vinkovac, Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Pozega, Pakrac. We were able to hear on several occasions how speakers or priests ask the question about that what attracts us here. We all know it is God. My first coming here was 18 years ago. After that first visit, my summer would never be complete unless I came here to Medjugorje. When after 7-8 years of immense joy, I realised that so many graces are here, I started spontaneously to invite my friends and people that I knew, and that is how we are coming here for the 10 th time now in organised group. “, said Ana and added that it is prayer that attracts here the most.

This year too, Mir Information Center Međugorje continues the great prayer initiative on the occasion of Christmas under the name "Your name in the embrace of the Queen of Peace". This is the third year in a row that the faithful write their names, prayers, intentions, thanksgiving... which will be presented to the Queen of Peace on Apparition Hill on Christmas Day itself.

On Tuesday, May 1, 2018, 34 th Golden Harp – musical gathering of all children’s choirs from Herzegovina was held in Posusje. Children from many parishes, accompanied by their leaders showed how they can witness God in music and in joy.

Šimo and Nada Šarčević came to Međugorje from the parish of St. Joseph the Worker from Belišće to participate at the 15 th International Seminar for Married Couples that was held from July 13-16. They are married 35 years now and this is their second seminar for married couples: “We can learn so much at these seminars, so much to share with our spouses especially how and what to share when it is not easy for us. We really had nice time, we learned so much about our marriage”. Nada said that she has been coming to Međugorje from the very beginning and was here more than 30 times:

Sean Hickey, 26 years old young man came from Killkeny in Ireland. This summer when he arrived for the Youth Festival was his eighth time. He said that he experienced great conversion during his first visit: „We decided to establish a prayer group in Killkeny and we brought several hundred young people from Killkeny. We meet every Friday and we pray Rosary and finish with the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The influence of Medjugorje at the young people is amazing, their lives are changing as well as lives of the people around them and in that way the whole society in Ireland is changing. I am saying this out of my own experience, how I was able to move, change and convert and how I received a guft of personal relationship with Jesus and Gospa. In the same way I look at tue other young people and how they are growing in their relationship to God. Young people in Ireland are distracted with various contents and it is hard to motivate and moge them to these wonderful realities.
