A team from the French Catholic Television Station KTO, led by Richard Boutry, Director of Information, visited Medjugorje from the 6th. to the 8th. of March 2006. They came to make a documentary entitled: “Medjugorje, Analysis of a Phenomenon”. It will contain the witness of French speaking people who have been working for several years now with the pilgrims. It will try to answer the following questions: Why such apparitions, to whom, how? What are the messages? Why is Medjugorje experiencing such growth? What are the pilgrims seeking? Why has the Holy See not given a directive as yet?

The 6 th International Meeting for Married Couples will take place in Medjugorje in the New Hall from October 26 to 29, 2005. The theme of the seminar is “Dialog in the Family – How to Educate Children?”

Chers jeunes et vous tous frères et sœurs ici présents, Nous avons écouté avec foi et dévotion les deux textes bibliques que nous offre la liturgie de ce jour. La liturgie de l’Église fait mémoire aujourd'hui d'un saint évêque, qui, dans le Christ a été lumière et sel de sagesse pour l’Église, la société et la culture de son époque. Son nom est Alphonse-Marie de Liguori. En lui nous trouvons un lumineux exemple de la fascination que le Royaume de Dieu peut réaliser en la personne qui se donne de la peine pour trouver cette réalité, et quand elle l'a trouvée, de devenir son apôtre afin qu'elle s'étende aussi à ses frères. Les textes bibliques, tirés l'un de l'Ancien Testament et l'autre du Nouveau, sont vraiment providentiels pour cette célébration eucharistique, dédiée de façon particulière à vous les jeunes, comme introduction à l'ouverture de ce Festival annuel et déjà traditionnel auquel j'ai la joie de participer pour la première fois.

Március 7-én, pénteken Međugorjéban szentmisével fejeződött be a zarándoklatszervezők, a béke központok, és a Međugorjéhoz kapcsolódó ima- és karitatív csoportok vezetőinek 21. nemzetközi találkozója, amelyet fra Marinko Šakota međugorjei plébános mutatott be. Marinko atya, aki az idei szeminárium előadója is volt, szentbeszédében megosztotta, miről elmélkedtek az elmúlt napokban a lelkigyakorlat résztvevői: „Arról elmélkedtünk, hol követünk el hibákat. Ha csak önmagunkra támaszkodunk, megjelennek a problémák. Ezért példa számunkra Mária. És ezért volt a lelkigyakorlat témája is: „Íme a te Anyád”, hogy tőle tanuljunk, mit tesz és mit mond számunkra. Ő mindent Jézussal, Istennel tesz. A szeminárium által megláthattuk, milyen fontos Jézussal élni. Erről beszél számunkra itt a Béke Királynője.” A március 3-ától 7-éig tartó találkozón 17 országból kb. 250-en vettek részt. A program előadásból, az előadóval való beszélgetésből, a Križevacon és a Jelenések hegyén való imádságból, valamint a međugorjei Szent Jakab templom imaprogramján való részvételből állt. ( képek )

Dear young brothers and sisters in Christ! As I look at you all here with joy – full of youth and future – I am greeting you all in this Medjugorje communion of so many different people and cultures. It is as if we had brought to life the events from the Acts of the Apostles, when Parthians, Medes and Elamites all met together. (cf. Acts 2, 9-11), by creating the new communion of Christ's mystical Body – of the Church. How beautiful this face of the Church is in you here, in this fellowship created from all over the world! How beautiful it is to praise God and to grow in the faith. Also, teaching of the New Testament shows us how this experience of faith is important. Let us remember how Jesus calls two disciples who wanted to follow Him and says to them: „Come and see!“ (Jn 1,39), while Phillip also said to Nathanael: „Come and see“ (1 Jn 1,46).

This February we are experiencing real winter with really low temperatures and snow all over the country. On Wednesday, February 1st, it started snowing and heavy snow on Friday completely blocked all of the roads and towns around Herzegovina and Dalmatia. This weather will remain even in the days that are coming. Along with one football club that came to prepare for the spring season in Medjugorje, there are groups of pilgrims from Spain, the United States, Peru, Korea and Italy. They are all able to see amazing change in the nature around Medjugorje parish. ( photos )

Let us invoke intercession of Mary and aid in prayer, for She is a woman of pain and she waits for the mystery in vigil, the mystery just about to take place. (Gaudete, Apostolic exhortation). One day, when this pandemic is over and when we again become a part of our old routine, let us recall how much we longed for what is the simplest of all – just one encounter. May this encounter now take place with newly born Jesus on this Christmas.

The world championship in high jumps, Croatian athlete Blanka Vlasic, spoke on August 2, and shared her testimony with the Youth Festival participants in Medjugorje. She spoke about her life, her career and the moment of her conversion, faith in God and how much He means to her.

At the last daily apparition to Jakov Colo on September 12th, 1998, Our Lady told him that henceforth he would have one apparition a year, every December 25th, on Christmas Day.
