Registration for the February Spiritual Retreat for Married Couples in Medjugorje has begun

The 25th International Spiritual Retreat for Married Couples will be held in Medjugorje from February 4 to 7, 2026. The theme of this spiritual retreat is "Ad fontem! To the source!", which is also the theme of all other spiritual retreats in Medjugorje for the next year.

The spiritual retreat will begin on Wednesday, February 4, with the registration of participants, and every evening married couples will participate in an evening prayer program in the Church of St. James. In addition to the lectures, there will be prayers at Cross Mountain and Apparition Hill, as well as the adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

The coordinator of this spiritual retreat is Fr. Josip Stanić, parish vicar of the Parish of St. James in Medjugorje, and the lecturer at the spiritual retreat will be Dr. Jozefina Škarica. This doctor was born in 1948, is married and is the mother of four children. After completing her medical studies, she worked at the Medical Center in Šibenik, Croatia. In 1985, she specialized in school medicine.

The late Bishop of Šibenik, Mons. Srećko Badurina, founded the Counseling Center for Youth, Marriage and Family in Šibenik in 1993, and appointed Dr. Jozefina Škarica as the head of the counseling center. After two years of training in Zagreb, she received her diploma as a family counselor in 2004. For the past twenty years, she has participated in marriage preparation courses and has held numerous lectures and seminars in Croatia and abroad on marriage, family and upbringing.
