The Mexican television movie star Eduardo Verastegui came to the Shrine of the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje for the first time in March 2005. He heard about Medjugorje for the first time from his English teacher three years ago, when he moved from Mexico to Los Angeles. He had to learn English, because he has signed a contract for a movie to be made in the USA. His teacher is very devoted to Our Lady and to Medjugorje, and she spoke to him about apparitions, visionaries, messages, confessions and prayers in Medjugorje. “This is how my conversion began. I started to go to the church daily, and among the Catholics, wherever I came, I heard only “Medjugorje, Medjugorje”…, says Eduardo.
As he arrived in Medjugorje, he noticed that people are really devoted to Our Lady, and that they are praying much, and he was very enthusiastic about it. It is stimulating him to be a better believer, a better Catholic. He also encountered the visionaries, Vicka Mijatovic and Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti.
The Mexican-American actor is staying in Medjugorje one week. He is going every day to the English Mass, to Adoration, he is climbing the Apparition Hill and Cross Mountain. These are his first impressions:
“I am delighted because of the simplicity and peace that I have found here. Medjugorje reminds me of true values in life: to know God, to love Him and to serve Him as much as we can. Yesterday, while I was climbing the Apparition Hill and meditating, I had the feeling that, during these days, I am growing in faith daily. I met so many beautiful people”.
As he moved to Los Angeles, he decided to produce movies also, and to make movies that will touch human hearts. His popularity is expected to grow in the USA also. He is saying that, with the help of God, he will come back to Medjugorje.
