The Holy Mass was presided over by the bishop of the Diocese of Rancagua in Chile, Msgr. Guillermo Vera Soto, at which Fr. Danko Perutina concelebrated, and this is how the two-day spiritual exercises for priests ended and the 1st National Congress of the Queen of Peace in Chile began. It was held in the city of San Francisco de Mostazal in the Diocese of Rancagua, about 60 km south of Santiago.
Bishop Guillermo, as well as the priests participating in the spiritual exercises, was happy and joyful about Fr. Danko's visit and invoked God's blessing on this congress.
On the second day of his visit to Chile, Fr. Danko Perutina spoke to the participants of the 1st National Congress of the Queen of Peace on the theme "Virgin Mary, teacher of humility and love", emphasizing that humility is the source of all virtues.
The participants of this Congress came from different parts of Chile in order to choose the coordinator and associates of the Foundation of the Međugorje Center in Chile, and they introduced Fr. Danko about their work done in the past. He told them that "foundations are the most important for establishing a center, because a good house can be built on a good foundation".
"And as Jesus said that we do not built our house on sand but on rock, each of these people is a real rock. Therefore, I believe that the team responsible for Chile has a very good base made up of people who will work with their hearts to spread the messages of the Queen of Peace," said Fr. Danko.
Paola Cancino from the province of Concepción was chosen as the coordinator of the Medjugorje center in Chile, and her assistant is Macarena Alcalde from Santiago, and close associates of the center for different areas were also appointed, because Chile has 16 provinces that stretch out for 4,270 km.
Fr. Danko Paola presented Paola Cancino during the dinner with a statue of the Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, which he had brought from Medjugorje for the Chilean center.
During the afternoon Fr. Danko held a catechesis where he spoke on the topic: "Open your hearts and ask the Lord for the gift of faith".
"Opening our hearts to God is so necessary in order to be transformed, because by opening our hearts to Him we are filled with His love and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as the Queen of Peace invited us in her message of May 23. 1985: "Dear children! These days I especially invite you to open your hearts to the Holy Spirit. Especially these days the Holy Spirit is working through you. Open your hearts and surrender your life to Jesus so that he works through your hearts and strengthens you in faith. Thank you for responding to my call!" said Fr. Danko Perutina, who also spoke about humility in his homily at the Holy Mass, and in the evening he met with the Franciscan brothers in whose monastery the 1st National Congress of the Queen of Peace in Chile was organized.
In the following days, Fr. Danko Perutina will have meetings with the faithful in Argentina, and already on the first day of his stay in this country, there were more than 500 people in the shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, who prayed the rosary, participated in adoration, and then Fr. Danko ended the meeting with a catechesis. That program will be held in four Argentine cities, and on November 12, the 11th Congress of the Queen of Peace will begin in Paraguay and will last for three days.
