The 18th International Youth Festival has began

On August 1st began in Medjugorje the 18th International Youth Festival. This prayer meeting began with the prayer of the Rosary followed by the welcoming words to young people from all the continents.

Young people from 47 countries greeted their fellow countrymen from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, England, France, Honduras, Hong Kong, Croatia, India, Ireland, Italy, Canada, China, Congo, Korea, La Guadeloupe, La Reunion, Leetonia, Latvia, Lebanon, Hungary, Macao, Malaysia, Malta, Martinique, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, Vietnam, USA.

Holy Mass was presided by Fr. Ivan Sesar, the Herzegovinian Franciscan Provincial, and concelebrated by two former Medjugorje parish priests, Fr. Ivan Dugandžić and Fr. Branko Radoš, as well as several hundred priests.

The Youth festival is simultaneously translated into 15 languages.

It is broadcasted live by Radio Mir Medjugorje and Radio Maria (in German, for Austria and South Tyrol).
