On the eve of Feast of St.Francis, on October 3, Franciscan family throughout the whole world is celebrating the service of Transitus of St. Francis, or "Memoria Transitus" as they also call it. The service was held at the Dome of St. James' in Medjugorje after the evening Holy Mass at 6 p.m., and was led by Fr. Danko Perutina with active participation of Medjugorje Franciscan Youth (Frama). Numerous priests, members of different nationalities, participated as well, accompanied by their groups of pilgrims. Parish was preparing for this feast with three-day prayer programme, and the area in front of the church was packed in the same way as it is in summer period. We should mention how 191.000 Holy Communions were given only in September, and in average 139 priests were celebrating Holy Mass every day. As October is month of Our Lady, this first weekend attracted many honorers of Our Lady from all continents to come to Medjugorje.
