On Wednesday, June 15, the Novena to the Queen of Peace began.
"Every day at 4 pm during these nine days, the rosary will be said on the Apparition Hill, and in addition to the novena on the Apparition Hill, this year the parishioners of Medjugorje will say the rosary before the evening Holy Mass at the White Dome of the parish church of St. James, announced the Parish Office of Medjugorje.
The parish priest of Medjugorje, Fr. Marinko Šakota, gave the interview at Radio Mir Medjugorje and announced the programme of the celebration of the 41st anniversary of the apparitions of the Queen of Peace.
"The Peace Walk on the Eve of the Anniversary will take place early in the morning, starting from Humac at 6 am, praying for peace. It started exactly 30 years ago, in 1992. We pray for the peace in the world, in Ukraine and in the hearts of all people that are in need so much. The schedule of Holy Masses is 8, 11 and 7 p.m., after the evening Holy Mass there will be Adoration of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar and will last the whole night until 6 o'clock in the morning. The solemn Holy Mass of the 41st anniversary of the apparition is at 7 pm”, said Fr. Marinko, announcing that the Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Ljubo Kurtović, parish priest of Humac, and on the Anniversary by the new Provincial of the Franciscan Province of Herzegovina, Fr. Jozo Grbeš.
"Also this year we will go to the church from the Apparition Hill, where it all began 41 years ago, around the statue of Our Lady at 4.30 pm and we will say the prayer that the visionaries said with Our Lady - Creed and Seven Our fathers, Hail Maries and Glory be, all walking in the procession and praying the rosary until we come to the parish church of St. James, where we will all celebrate the 41st anniversary of the apparitions of the Queen of Peace", said Fr. Marinko Šakota.
