From the 6th to the 9th of December 2007, a medical team of eye specialists from Italy visited Mother’s Village in Medjugorje. Eye specialists Dr. Tanzarella and Dr. S. Verga, optician Mrs. C. Verga, and nurses Maria G. and L. Fornaro, performed free medical checks on the eyes of 250 children from Mother’s Village in Bijakovici, the John Paul II Family Centre in Vionica, and the Elementary School in Medjugorje.
Having experienced at first hand the necessity of the service they provided, the team expressed their willingness to repeat this service on a return visit.
During this Christmas Season, which is recognised as a time of giving gifts to others, they have given freely of themselves and of their free time to others. By so doing they have shown that love always finds a way to manifest itself.
