Msgr. Henryk Hoser receives award on behalf of the Polish foundation

Archbishop Henryk Hoser, Bishop Emeritus of Warsaw – Prague, the Apostolic Visitor with the special role for the parish of Medjugorje, will be granted the award 'Bishop Roman Andrzejewski' for the year 2019. The Archbhishop Hoser is awarded for all his merits and efforts taken for the development of the Polish villages and the presentation of the award will take place on February 20, 2020 in the auditorium of the Polish Episcopal Conference in Warsaw.

Msgr. Henryk Hoser said that “thanks to love for our country and freedom of farmers we survived the times of the totalitarian Nazism and communism”, and referred to farmers as to “the creators of our national identity”, says report of the jury of this award.

The jury, under the honorary chairmanship of Bishop Artur Miziński decided to grant this award to Archbishop Hoser for his persistent and continuous teaching towards all farmers and people in charge of the agricultural politics in Poland.

Furthermore, the jury stated also this: “By granting this award to Archbishop Hoser, we are at the same time honouring the tradition of Hoser family, who contributed greatly to the development of Polish gardening since 1844. We would like to remind that Hoser family has developed the biggest horticultural farm in Poland, later on affected by communist confiscation.”

"This award honours all property owners, agricultural producers, gardeners and fruit producers, whose land was destroyed at the time of the communism regime”, says the report of the jury.

The 16th Presentation of the Award will take place on February 20, 2020 in the auditorium of the Polish Episcopal Conference in Warsaw.

Award 'Bishop Roman Andrzejewski' Foundation was established in 2004 and honours persons who are especially meritorious in the work for the rural areas, for cultural and economic development of small towns and villages. Last year it was awarded to Folk Dance and Song Ensemble "Mazowsze". The honorary chairmanship since this year is Bishop Artur Miziński, the Head Secretary of the Polish Episcopal Conference.
