Dear friends of Medjugorje!
We are in the 40th year of Our Lady's apparitions. Like every mother, patiently and lovingly, Our Lady's desire in all of these years was to take our lives into Her motherly hands and teach us peace and love, teach us how to be closer to Her Son. She wants to be the link between us and our Heavenly Father, our Mediatrix, to intercede for us and walk with us in the battle against demons. It is indeed Her and Her Son who have been preparing us all these years for these difficult times, yet times of grace as well. She continues to invite us to prayer, fasting and conversion. In one of Her messages, Our Lady says:
Dear children!
I thank you for all the prayers. Thank you for all the sacrifices. I want to to tell you, dear children, to renew the messages which I am giving you. Especially live the fast, because by fasting you will obtain the fulfillment of the whole plan, which God is planning here in Medjugorje, and thereby make me joyful. Thank you for having responded to my call! (Message, September 26th, 1985)
Certainly, many of us would like to come to Medjugorje and give thanks for all the graces and love we have received through Our Lady’s intercession. Although it is a time of a pandemic, a time of restrictions and pilgrimages are not possible, throughout this time we can all make a pilgrimage together with the heart. By following Our Lady's messages, let us all collectively start a chain of fasting and prayer in thanksgiving to our Heavenly Father for allowing Our Lady, Queen of Peace, to remain with us all these years.
We start our fasting and prayer on May 8th, on the Feast of Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces, and we finish the fasting and prayer on June 24th. Through the website "Let us thank Our Lady's messages", each one of us, along with our families and friends, by clicking on the desired day of fasting, can participate in this great thanksgiving. Let us begin the day of fasting with the Prayer to begin a fast day, written by our very own Fr. Slavko Barbarić, let us participate in daily Holy Mass, pray the Holy Rosary, a prayer being said each day in Medjugorje for the last 40 years.
This is a time of grace! Let us express our love for the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. May the Hearts of Jesus and Mary lead us on the path of holiness, so that God's plan and Our Lady's intentions may be completely realised.
Let us pray, fast and love in sincerity of our hearts, and let our good deeds contribute to the change of the world so that the Hearts of Jesus and Mary may triumph.
Let us respond to the call of Our Lady, our Queen of Peace!
