Cynthia Plath, Deputy Consular Chief of the American Embassy in Sarajevo, visited Medjugorje on February 14, 2008. In front of the Parish Office, she was received by Fr. Svetozar Kraljević who also organised an encounter with the American citizens who are staying in Medjugorje, and the local guides who work with American pilgrims.
The themes of the one-hour encounter were mainly practical matters connected with consular questions of interest for American citizens living in foreign countries. For Mrs. Cynthia Plath, this was the first visit to Medjugorje. Members of the American community in Medjugorje received her visit with respect and gratitude, very glad that their embassy is thinking of them.
