Colleen Willard from United States: I was healed in Medjugorje!

date: 08.11.2010.

Colleen Willard has been married for the last 35 years and she is the mother of three grown up sons. She came to Medjugorje recently on another pilgrimage with her husband John and we had opportunity to talk to her. She told us all about her healing, since she was diagnosed with inoperable brain tumour before her arrival to Medjugorje. Colleen is claiming that her healing started after her visit to Medjugorje in 2003, and her testimony was translated in many world languages and published in 92 different countries.
Colleen told us that she used to work as a school teacher. In 2001, she was suffering a lot from pains in her back, and she was even unable to get up from a bed. Soon, she had first surgery and was told that surgery went well and that she should be able to recover within the next six weeks. She was not getting better at all and was still in a big pain. After a number of tests, they discovered that Colleen had a brain tumour.
Whole family was in a state of shock, they thought it was not possible that they were going through all that. “I kept repeating that everything was taken away from me. What did I do, why all that now, I grew up in a Catholic family... I really did not know how to handle that new situation at all!”, said Colleen. “My husband and I decided to consult few other doctors, but their opinion was also that tumour was too big and there were no ways of performing surgery. “
Colleen went from hospital to hospital and they were told the same everywhere. They ended up in one of the hospitals in Minnesota and she was even diagnosed with few more other illnesses.  Being already exhausted, she decided to come to Medjugorje with her husband.
They did not know what to expect, but at very arrival they immediately felt God’s presence. The miracle happened in the church of St. James, during the Holy Mass; Colleen was able to feel that something was happening, the pain was gone.  She said to her husband that she does not feel any pain and asked him to lift her up from the wheelchair she was in. Upon her arrival back home, she went to see her doctors and told them about what had happened.
John said: “There is no such thing as coincidence. We are all pilgrims here; we all are coming to Our Lady’s school with our pains, with our crosses, our problems.  We could not even dream that we would be able to face all that. On September 4, 2003, my wife and I climbed the Apparition Hill for the first time. It was only one day before that Colleen was healed and she was able to climb the Apparition Hill without any diffulties!”
