Catholic Day in Kupres

The Middle European Catholic Day took place on Saturday, May 21, in Kupres (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Very numerous faithful from all the parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina came together for this occasion, as well as representatives from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. The Eucharistic celebration was presided by the cardinal Mons. Vinko Puljic, archbishop of Vrhbosna (Sarajevo), and the homily was given by the cardinal Mons Jospi Bozanic, archbishop of Zagreb. At this occasion, the bells for the new church of the Holy Family were consecrated by the cardinal Mons Cristoph Schoenborn, archbishop of Vienna. Parishioners of Medjugorje, as well as young members of prayer groups that are active in the parish, also went on this pilgrimage. Radio “Mir” Medjugorje broadcasted live the Mass celebration, which was transmitted by about ten other radio stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the celebration, many participants from abroad came on pilgrimage to the Shrine of Medjugorje.
