A representative of the Italian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina visits Medjugorje

date: 25.04.2006.

On Monday, April 24th., 2006, Mr. Pier Luigi Bianchi-Cagliesi, a representative of the Italian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited Medjugorje with his wife. At the Italian Embassy, Mr. Bianchi-Cagliesi is responsible for Communications and for the Office of Development Cooperation.

At the Rectory, Mr. Bianchi-Cagliesi met Dr. Fr. Ivan Sesar, the Parish Priest, and talked with him about the life of this parish, and especially about the Italian pilgrims who visit Medjugorje in large numbers.

After the encounter with the parish priest, Mr. Bianchi-Cagliesi gave a short interview to Radio Mir Medjugorje. He spoke about his own view of Medjugorje as a place of prayer and as a place of apparitions of Our Lady. In his view, in order to understand Medjugorje and the message of Medjugorje, it is necessary to free oneself from prejudice and from the intellectual bonds of rationality, while at the same time opening the heart to the evangelical simplicity with which Our Lady speaks to us.

As he works in Sarajevo, Mr. Bianchi-Cagliesi and his wife are delighted to seize each and every opportunity to visit Medjugorje.
