Franciscans of Herzegovinian Province: Fr. Ivan Dugandzic, Fr. Ante Leko, Fr. Berislav Kutle, Fr. Vitomir Musa, Fr. Tomislav Pervan, Fr. Ilija Puljic, Fr. Ljubo Vlasic and Fr. Franjo Vrgoc, member of Province of Bosna Srebrena, have celebrated on Saturday, August 22, the 40th anniversary of their priesthood with the verse from Psalm 32: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Solemn Holy Mass at 7 p.m. was celebrated by Fr. Ivan Sesar, The Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, and the Fr. Tomislav Pervan, one of the celebrants gave the homily. Just before the beginning of the Holy Mass, Fr. Petar Vlasic greeted all the celebrants congratulating them their jubilee in this year when we celebrate 800 years of Franciscan Order, 2000 years of the birth of St. Paul, and when we celebrate the Jubilee Year of Priests, that was declared on the Feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus by our Holy Father Benedict XVI. Parish Priest also passed on the greetings from one other celebrant Fr. Mihovil – Hilo Kabashia, Bishop in Albania, who unfortunately could not participant in this celebration due to his other obligations. Parish Priest has also remembered priests who had died and belonged to this generation of Franciscans. This is already third jubilee celebration of priesthood that is celebrated here in Medjugorje. In beginning of June we celebrated 70 years of priesthood of Fr. Zoran Ostojic, and in beginning of August 45th anniversary of priesthood of six members of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province.
