„Praised be Jesus and Mary. Dear listeners, you are listening to the radio station Mir Medjugorje” – these were the first words broadcasted live in the air on November 25, 1997, in the basement of the small house where facilities of this radio station had just been opened and blessed. The frequency at that time was 106,3 FM and it covered 800 meters distance in Medjugorje, only for five hours of radio programme per day.
The main focus of the programme in the beginning was live broadcasting of the prayer programme from church of St. James in Medjugorje, and that has not changed in all of these years. Later on, various religious, cultural, informative and entertaining programme was introduced.
Today, when this radio station broadcasts their own live programme for 24/7, when they have their own transmitters and broadcasts programme via satellite throughout the whole world, when they are a part of the organisation of major project related to Medjugorje, along with their own web site, recording and publishing of music CDs of the highest quality, it is our desire to mark this 20th Anniversary in a very special way. The years when we did not know how to work, but we had desire to work and to learn, the years when we were amateurs, but also gradually transferred to professionalism, all due to the fervent desire, perseverance, work, prayer, success and proudness.
However, none of this would have been possible without support of our faithful listeners, especially those who are supporting us financially. Therefore, our desire is to thank you all by inviting you to the concert that shall take place on November 25, 2017 in the Hall of John Paul II, at 7.30 pm, when choir Izvor from Zagreb are going to perform for you. We also invite you to listen to our festive programme in these days, as we prepared many attractive rewards for you, including trip to Holy Land, Lourdes or Rome.
