A new crown for Our Lady’s statue at St. James’ in Medjugorje – a testimony by Angel Maria Garcia Alvarez, architect designer

Angel Maria Garcia Alvarez (from Madrid, Spain), architect designer of the new crown offered to St. James’ in Medjugorje at the occasion of the 24^th anniversary of the apparitions (also designer of the magnificent Magna Monstrance offered to the Shrine in 2001) gave a testimony about how this project came about and how it was realised.

In June 2005, Chris Rogers (journalist and newsreader) and Matt Writtle (photographer, winner of several photographic awards) came from the UK to make a photo-reportage about Medjugorje for “The Times Magazine”. For Chris, it was like coming back home after 15 years. Matt came to Medjugorje for the first time. Višnja Spajić spoke with them for Radio “Mir” Medjugorje.

Professors from Zagreb came to Medjugorje

On June 12, a day before the Feast of St. Anthony, a group of secondary school directors and professors from Zagreb (Croatia) came to Medjugorje. They participated in the Sunday Mass celebration, and in the evening, they visited Cross Mountain and Apparition Hill.

Novena for the 24th Anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady in Medjugorje

The Novena in thanksgiving for 24 years of the apparitions of the Queen of Peace is beginning in Medjugorje. We pray the rosary at the Apparition Hill every day at 4 pm, and we invite all Our Lady’s pilgrims, wherever they may be, to unite in a joyful prayer!

Pope John Paul II wrote positively about Medjugorje

The Web site www.kath.net published on May 25 a text in which it is said: “Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje were credible for the Pope, which can be seen from his private correspondence with a renowned Polish journalist Marek Skwarnicki and his wife Zofia”.

Leaders of the Croatian Academy of Science and Art in Medjugorje

On Thursday, June 9, the leaders of the Croatian Academy of Science and Art came to Medjugorje.

The President of the Academy Milan Moguš, the Secretary General of the Academy Slavko Cvetnić, and the secretary prof. dr. Slobodan Kaštela led the delegation. President Moguš expressed his joy for coming for the first time in a place where so many are converted and where s many pour out their prayers to God through Mary.

Bishop Salvatore Boccaccio on pilgrimage in Medjugorje

Mons. Salvatore Boccaccio, bishop of the diocese Frosinone near Rome, was on a private pilgrimage in Medjugorje from June 4 to 7, 2005. During his stay, he visited the places of prayer and participated in the liturgical and prayer programme in the parish church. He also met the Medjugorje Franciscans.

The 16th International Youth Festival - Mladifest 16 – Medjugorje 2005

The 16^th International Youth Festival - Mladifest 16 – will take place in Medjugorje from August 1^st to August 6^th, 2005. The theme “We come to adore him” (Mt 2,2) is in harmony with the Year of the Eucharist and the World Youth Day, which, later in August, will gather together in Cologne hundreds of thousands of young people around the Holy Father. Sportsmen from Slunj are promoting Medjugorje

One interesting information came to us from the city of Slunj in Croatia: The Table Tennis club “Grad Slunj” has taken the initiative to promote Medjugorje while wearing the logo “Radio Mir Medjugorje” on their dresses.
