The scientific Symposium to commemorate the tenth death anniversary of Dr.Fr. Ljudevit Rupcic held in Medjugorje

On Saturday, June 7, 2014, the scientific Symposium on occasion of 10th death Anniversary of Dr. Fr. Ljudevit Rupcic, that hosted eleven lecturers, was held in Medjugorje and was organised by the parish office Medjugorje, Franciscan Theology from Sarajevo and Biblical Institute of Catholic Theology Faculty from Zagreb. Dr. Fr. Miljenko Steko, Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, during his introduction and welcome speech, shortly presented life of Fr. Ljudevit and said that he was one of the most famous  biblical experts that ever came from Croatia. Dr. Fr. Anto Popović was the first lecturer and he spoke about the contribution of Fr. Ljudevit Rupcic to the explanation of dogmatic constitution Dei Verbum. Dr. Fr. Ivan Dugandžić, the coordinator of the Symposium, spoke about (un) resolved circumstances of Rupcic's translation of the New Testament(1961). Fr. Ivan emphasised that the importance of this Symposium is also in preserving the memory of one extremely valuable priest: „Fr. Ljudevit is best known for his translation of the New Testament that got its eleventh edition a little before his death. It was printed along with his translation of Psalms for the first time in 2000. That was the fifth edition of Psalms. Dr. Mato Zovkić spoke about Fr. Ljudevit's translation and brief commentary of St. James' letter.
After all those lecturers "peaked" into the huge scientific work of Fr. Ljudevit before noon, they afterwards visited the theme art gallery "Mother", which was Fr. Ljudevit's way of thanking his mother, all other mothers and women, but above all our Heavenly Mother Mary. At the very end, all participants gathered in a village Staro Hardomilje where guardian of Humac monastery, Fr. Velimir Mandić, solemnly introduced commemorative plaque outside Fr. Ljudevit's birth house.
