date: 25.05.2017.

On Wednesday, May 24, the 5th International Seminar for Life began in Medjugorje that gathered around 200 participants from 15 countries. The theme of this seminar is “That your love may increase ever more” (Phil 1, 9) – In Our Lady’s School, which is at the same time title of all seminars that will be held this year in Medjugorje. This Seminar for Life united seminar for doctors that was held four times so far, and pro-life seminar held for the first time last year. This seminar is being held in the Hall of St. John Paul II.

After the registration of the participants and welcoming words of the parish priest, Fr. Marinko Sakota, all participants had chance to hear the introduction lecture of Fr. Ante Vuckovic, Franciscan of the Franciscan Province in Split, professor at the Catholic Theology Faculty in Split, famous leader of many spiritual exercises, seminars and spiritual retreats, who is well known to all those who come to Medjugorje for such events. The lecturer said that the most important is for one person to get to know God, as no one, not even a priest is able to enter the area of a human person where God can. The purpose of the seminar was to make that encounter easier.

The programme continued after the lecture at the White Dome of St. James’ church, with the Rosary at 5 and the Holy Mass at 6 pm, with Fr. Marinko Sakota concelebrating along with 36 other priests, while Fr. Ante Vuckovic was the main celebrant.

In his homily he spoke about the excerpt of John’s Gospel that spoke about the feast of the consecration of the temple, when Jesus, after asked by Jews, declared Himself as the Son of God. This International Seminar for Life will continue in the following days with lectures, testimonies and prayer and will be concluded on Saturday, May 27, at 12 pm with the closing Holy Mass.
