The First Camp for Boys held in Medjugorje

date: 26.04.2015.

The Totus Tuus prayer community has organised the first camp for boys, which was held in Medjugorje from April 24-26, 2015. The prayer community is active in the Franciscan church of Sts. Peter and Paul in Mostar. Damir Musa, a representative of the Totus Tuus community, said that their community had held two camps for girls which proved to be very successful. "We received positive feedback and inquiries about a boys' camp and so decided to organise the first camp for boys here in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We decided to hold it in Medjugorje. Our community is active in Germany and Croatia as well as here in Mostar. It frequently organises camps for children from 9-14 years of age. The main goal is to bring them close to the values that are really important in life - the moral, spiritual needs of man, friendship, peace, sincerity, goodness and charity, mutual acceptance, spending time together and prayer.“, said Damir Musa. The story of the Totus Tuus community is connected to Medjugorje. A young couple from Germany went to Croatia on holiday and during their visit they came to Medjugorje where they experienced a conversion. Upon returning home they began to pray with their family and to live Our Lady's messages. A group of other faithful joined them and they soon formed a small prayer group. In1994 they organised a pilgrimage to Medjugorje for young people and that was the beginning of many future prayer circles which were initiated in several other towns. This is how the community “Totus Tuus” was created; the title meaning “All Yours”. (photos)
