date: 15.08.2014.

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated in Medjugorje with the large number of pilgrims from abroad and especially from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. All pilgrims, especially the young ones were arriving to Medjugorje throughout the whole night in their feet, confessed and took part in Holy Masses  that were celebrated from 6 a.m. in Croatian language. Holy Masses in Croatian language in the morning were then celebrated at 7,8,9 and 11 a.m. and the central Holy Mass was at 7 p.m. Fr. Ivan Dugandzic was the main celebrant and around 70 priests concelebrated at that Holy Mass celebrated at the White Dome of St. James' church. According to the information from the Information Office, groups from Italy, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, France, the United States, Ireland, Sri Lanka,  Hungary, Ukraine, Spain and Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were in Medjugorje for this Feast. During the day, apart from Holy Masses celebrated in Croatian language, there were 17 Holy Masses celebrated in other languages.  Among many pilgrims that arrived from all over the world, we had chance to meet  Ivanka Senjak from Slavonski Brod that has been coming to Medjugorje since 2000. She said that Medjugorje is a second home for her and a special place: "Whenever it is hard for me, this is where I find peace, this is where the Queen of Peace is”.  (photos)
