date: 04.01.2017.

Groups from Italy, Korea, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Poland, France, Lebanon, the United States, Spain, Austria, Germany, China, Romania and England came to Medjugorje in the first days of the New Year.

Since there were many youth engaged in the traditional music and dance, who wanted to come to Medjugorje on a spiritual retreat, as well as many others, they organised New Year’s Eve spiritual retreat in Medjugorje, that was held in Domus Pacis in Medjugorje. Leaders of this retreat were Sr. Ljilja Pehar and Toni Ilicic, representative of the Association of Croatian Amateur Art and Culture Groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Antonija Kristo from Mostar spoke about this spiritual retreat in her interview for radio Medjugorje: “I came here as a member of this Association to spend New Year’s Eve in Medjugorje on this retreat. This is the second time we have this prayer event on this occasion. The programme began with the introduction and whole-night Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. On the second day, we climbed Cross Mountain and prayed the Way of the Cross and participated in the evening prayer programme in the parish church. New Year’s Eve prayer vigil began with the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Mass. Members of different amateur Art and Culture Groups took part in this seminar, as well as other young people who wanted to be in the embrace of Our Lady for New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day, young people from the community Carmel of Divine Mercy from Dubrovnik joined us.”
