The traditional annual meeting of scholars of “Fra Slavko Barbaric” Association was held in Medjugorje on Saturday, December 29th. Meeting started at 3 p.m. and hosted 229 students from various universities who were greeted by the President of the Association Dr. Fr. Miljenko Steko, who thanked all members for cooperation and to all benefactors for their generosity. Vice-president of the Association and Director of Mother’s Village, Fr. Svetozar Kraljevic, spoke about the Culture of Good Deeds. One of the scholars, Mateja Primorac, who studies music in Klagenfurt in Austria, played Second Sonata of Johann Sebastian Bach. Movie about Fr. Slavko Barbaric was shown and the programme was conducted by Sanja Pehar, editor at Radio Station Mir Medjugorje.
All scholars took part in the evening prayer programme in Medjugorje church, Fr. Miljenko Steko was the main celebrant and youth choir “Friends” from Citluk made celebration more beautiful with their singing.
Foundation “Friends of Talents” was founded in 1991 with the intention of material and spiritual help to talented and poor students. The founder was late Fr. Slavko Barbaric. After his death, the Assembly of the Foundation brought decision to change the name of the Foundation into the Association “Fr. Slavko Barbaric”. This Association is organising numerous spiritual and cultural activities and its scholars are very talented at various foreign and domestic universities.
