Also this year, we had joyful celebration of Christmas in Medugorje. The whole community of faithful was preparing for the birth of the Christ with the early Holy Masses, the evening prayer programme and nine days of Rosary on Apparition Hill. This place of prayer and reconciliation, as many pilgrims call Medugorje from all over the world, once again was reconfirmed as the confessional of the whole world, since many faithful patiently waited in the lines for the confession every morning and every evening before the Eucharistic celebrations. The evening prayer programme on Christmas Eve began with the prayer of Rosary at 5 pm, followed by the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Dragan Ruzic in concelebration by all of the priests who are serving in this parish. After the Holy Mass, we had the first live performance of the nativity scene, given by Cenacolo community. The Christmas Vigil began at 10 pm with the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament led by Fr. Perica Ostojic and ended with the Midnight Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Zvonimir Pavicic.
The church and the area around the church, including the Hall of John Paul II, were packed with many parishioners and faithful from the neighbouring parishes. Holy Masses on Christmas were celebrated in the parish church at 7, 8, 11 am and at 6 pm. (photos)
