Six Herzegovinian Franciscans in Medjugorje professed their solemn vows

date: 16.09.2019.

''That by professing the Rule and life in the Order of Minor Brothers we may imitate teaching and footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ, by holy life until death comes”, is what six Franciscans from this Herzegovinian Province had asked from God and the Church in Medjugorje on September 15, 2019.

The solemn vows were professed by: Fr. Marko Bandić, OFM (parish of Ružići), Fr. Tomislav Crnogorac, OFM (parish Posušje), Fr. Zlatko Ćorić, OFM (parish Mostar), Fr. Emanuel Letica, OFM (parish Bukovica), Fr. Andrija Majić, OFM (parish Drinovci) and Fr. Antonio Primorac (parish Humac).

The Provincial of Herzegovinian Franciscan Province, dr. Fr. Miljenko Šteko, was the main celebrant along with 132 priests concelebrating, their educator in Zagreb, Fr. Ivan Landeka, parish priest from Medjugorje, Fr. Marinko Sakota and General Definitor, Fr. Ivan Sesar.

The Provincial said in his homily: Brothers and sisters, the calling of these young brothers is the act of God as well as every other spiritual vocation. I am glad that these brothers expressed desire to profess their solemn vows here in Medjugorje on the day when this parish celebrated the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, when Cross was built on that mountain 85 years ago.

As you surrender your lives in the vows of obedience, poverty and chastity before the Cross of the Lord, may you continue to live under His shadow. Gaze often at the Cross and share your stories of life at the foot of the Cross, say to the Cross all those burdens and pains, but also be able to place your joy there too and may you continue to walk in the newness until the rest of your lives.” (PHOTO)
