On Saturday, June 25, 2005, the Shrine of the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje celebrates the 24th anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions.
Programme:
On Friday, June 24, on the Feast of St. John the Baptist, takes place the “Peace March” from Humac to Medjugorje. It begins at 6 am in front of St. Anthony’s church at Humac.
Holy Masses on that day: in Croatian at 8 am and 11 am, for other languages according to the schedule of the day, and the evening solemn Holy Mass at 7 pm. Possibility for Confessions: during the morning and after 5 pm. The Vigil (Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament) is from 10 to 11 pm. From 11 pm to 6 am – silent adoration.
On the day of the anniversary, on Saturday, June 25, Holy Masses in Croatian are at 6, 8 and 11 am, for other languages according to the schedule of the day. The central Eucharistic celebration is at 7 pm. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is from 10 to 11 pm. Possibility for confessions: during the whole day.
The Rosary begins every evening at 6 pm.
Counsels for the pilgrims:
We ask the pilgrims who come walking to do their pilgrimage to the Queen of Peace in prayer and recollection, and we ask the drivers to drive carefully during these days, keeping in mind numerous pilgrims coming from everywhere. We ask you to respect the indication of the street police and the service of order at the Shrine itself. We remind those who walk that they should take with them sufficient liquid to drink. In case you have any health problems, you may ask for medical help at the First Aid Station of the Shrine.
For those who desire Holy Masses being said at the Shrine, they may do it at the Presbytery and at a stand near the church. Please inform the Service of order about any apprehensive activities, and please take care of your personal things. Welcome!
