On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of Our Lady's apparitions in Medjugorje, the Information Centre Mir Medjugorje is organising Online Conference on the fruits of Medjugorje in the Chinese speaking countries (Cantonese and Mandarin language), held under the theme „Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you“ (Mt 7:7).
The Conference is being prepared and those who would be speaking are: Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Luigi Pezzuto, Auxiliary Bishop of Hong Kong Joseph Ha Chi-Shing, the Provincial of Herzegovina Franciscan Province Fr. Miljenko Šteko, Fr. Danko Perutina, etc.
Testimonies will be given by Jakov Colo, Marija Pavlovic Lunetti, Ivan Dragicevic and many other people related to Medjugorje where their lives were changed and they would speak about their conversions, change of life, prayer they discovered along with the purpose of life.
There would be much music and videos, and the Conference shall be held on October 30, 2021 from 10 am to 5 pm local time, continuing with the evening prayer programme from St. James’.
Due to pandemic of Covid-19 many pilgrims are physically no table to visit Medjugorje. The official web site has been organising different online conferences in different languages and in this way friends of Medjugorje from all over the world are able to take part in the spiritual activities through different media channels. Already this year two online conferences on the fruits of Medjugorje were held for German and Spanish speaking countries. The Chinese online conference is to take part on October 30, 2021 and it would be simultaneously translated in 14 languages.
In this way, participants from all over the world can discover the fruits of Medjugorje offered by Chinese pilgrims as well as the messages of Chinese spiritual directors.
The first pilgrims from Hong Kong and China began to come to Medjugorje in the very beginning of the apparitions and they received many graces from Our Lady. Upon their return, they began actively to spread messages of Our Lady and the prayer group of the Queen of Peace was initiated. Gradually, more and more people got to know Medjugorje through the messages of Our Lady and testimonies of pilgrims.
In 1994, Fr. Slavko Barbaric was invited to Hong Kong by pilgrims who were already in Medjugorje and who began to be its promoters, he also visited Macao and Taiwan to spread the messages of the Queen of Peace there. Thanks to that visit, more people became aware of Medjugorje and pilgrims began to come from those regions, as well as from Shanghai all organised by pilgrims from Hong Kong who worked in China at that time.
