Parishioners and pilgrims are preparing for the 38th Anniversary of Gospa’s apparitions with the Novena that began on Saturday, June 15, 2019. Rosary will be on Apparition Hill every day at 4 p.m. On Friday, the parish will not pray the Way of the Cross on Cross Mountain, but instead there will be Rosary on Apparition Hill. The evening prayer programme begins at 6 p.m. with the Rosary and Holy Mass is at 7 p.m.
This Novena is opportunity to thank God for all of the graces we have received in the last 38 years through our Heavenly Mother. Many will be confessing in those days and priests in different language groups will be available for this sacrament.
On Monday, June 24, the Feast of Nativity of St. John the Baptist, we are celebrating the Eve of Gospa’s apparitions in Medjugorje. As it is tradition, the Peace Walk will start from shrine of St. Anthony in Humac at 6 a.m. and the arrival in front of the parish church will be around 10 a.m.
This Walk was initiated by German Hubert Liebherr in 1992, terrified with all restlessness in this country at that time, believing in the words of Our Lady who said that prayer and fasting could stop the wars.
On Tuesday, June 25, we celebrate the 38th Anniversary of Our Lady’s apparitions in Medjugorje. Holy Masses in Croatian language will take place from the early morning in the parish church and the solemn Holy Mass will be at 7 pm. The whole-night Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will start after the Holy Mass and will continue until 7 a.m. on the following day. Many pilgrims will be walking to Medjugorje in those days and we advice all drivers to drive carefully.
