New Year's Eve in Medjugorje

Thousands of pilgrims from all over the world have arrived to Medjugorje for celebration of New Year's Eve. According to the Information Office register, there were larger groups from Germany, Italy, Poland, Korea, China, England, Slovakia, Czech Republic, the United States, France, Spain, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary. Along with them, there were smaller groups from other countries as well as well as youth from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fr. Miljenko Steko was the main celebrant of Holy Mass of Thanksgiving on Monday, December 31, along with 49 priests who have concelebrated. After Holy Mass, there was live Nativity Scene performance in front of the church, played by members of Cenacolo community. Vigil began with Adoration at 10 p.m. and the International Choir and Orchestra had made it even more beautiful. Holy Mass was celebrated at midnight and Fr. Marinko Sakota, parish priest was the main celebrant along with 143 priests that had concelebrated. Church of St. James, area around the church as well as the Hall of BL. John Paul II were packed with pilgrims who had joyfully prayed and praised our God. The whole programme was simultaneously translated in many languages and Radio Mir Medjugorje broadcasted live the whole programme.
