On Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the occasion of the 11th death anniversary of Fr. Jozo Vasilj, memorial board was installed at the wall of his birth house. This board was the gift of his brothers Franciscans and Fr. Jozo’s family, and it was made by the sculptor Mile Maric from Citluk. Holy Mass was celebrated for Fr. Jozo in the church of St. James and then, a little ceremony followed in the garden of his birth house where his brothers Franciscans, religious sisters, his friends and relatives gathered. Fr. Miljenko Steko, the Provincial was absent and represented by the Vicar of Herzegovina Franciscan Province, Fr. Ivan Sevo, who in kind words reminded all those gathered that the life of Fr. Jozo was all about serving to God and neighbours and his contribution enriched the Franciscan community, the Church all from Herzegovina to Congo, Africa. Fr. Ivan then blessed the memorial board, saying that in the time when we forget so easily, the memory of special and amazing people of many merits, is kept and preserved.
