Members of the Franciscan Youth Fraternity made their promises

date: 01.03.2006.

On Sunday, February 26th. 2006, during the evening Mass at 6 pm, members of the Franciscan Youth Fraternity from Medjugorje (FRAMA) celebrated the rite of professing their vows. This is an event of the greatest significance for any Fraternity. On that day, 43 young men and women became members of the Fraternity. Twenty-three of them became fully professed, as they made their first promises to follow the Lord according to the example of St. Francis, their founder. They received the T-cross, St. Francis’ sign of penance and conversion, and symbol of full membership of the Franciscan family. The rest of the group renewed their annual promises. Fr. Sretan Curcic, Provincial assistant of the Franciscan Youth Fraternity and spiritual assistant of the FRAMA in Siroki Brijeg, who was Chief Celebrant of the Mass, led the rite. In his homily, he spoke about the beauty of the Franciscan vocation and invited young people to give Christian witness, and to take care of their local Fraternities.

Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Ivan Sesar - Parish Priest of Medjugorje, Fr. Boze Milic - spiritual assistant of the FRAMA in Medjugorje, and other spiritual assistants: Fr. Mario Knezovic (Posusje), Fr. Marinko Sakota (Gradnici), Fr. Robert Crnogorac (Drinovci) and Fr. Dario Dodig (Humac).

This celebration was honoured by the presence of the members of the other nine Fraternities from Herzegovina, accompanied by their assistants. FRAMA members from Cerin sang, under the direction of Prof. Martin Pero Boras. After Mass, all the Fraternity members and guests gathered together in the Parish hall, where FRAMA Medjugorje performed a short drama. Afterwards, they enjoyed a meal prepared by the Medjugorje FRAMA.
