INERNATIONAL SEMINAR FOR PRIESTS ENDED

date: 11.07.2011.

The sixteenth International Seminar for priests, that gathered 305 priests, deacons and seminarians from 24 countries, ended on Saturday, July 9th with Holy Mass of Thanksgiving celebrated by Dr. Fr. Miljenko Šteko, the coordinator of the retreat.
Families from Međugorje, that were hosts to priests and provided accommodation and food for free, were present at that Holy Mass as well. The theme of this retreat was: “The Priest and The Sacrament of Reconciliation – Contemporary Challenges” and Dr. Fr. Tonči Matulić was the main lecturer. He is full professor of Moral Theology and of Social Teachings of the Church at the Catholic Theological Faculty in Zagreb. The seminar was simultaneously translated in dozen languages, and there was live broadcasting through radio and Internet in Croatian, German, English, Italian and Spanish language.
According to the feedback of priests who participated in this retreat, there are many good fruits as well as the decision to come to the following, the seventeenth retreat, again in Međugorje.
The coordinator of the retreat, Fr. Miljenko, said at the end: “One thing that we can say for these days is that they are filled with what our Church in its teaching, life and worshipping of God, believes and transmits to its members. These days have been essential meditation for priests about their vocation and their consecration to the Church with prayer, work, sacraments and liturgy of word, and yet, all of that is contained in obedient and appropriate life of each one of them.” (photo)
