Holy Week and Easter in Medjugorje

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (March 21- March 23, 2016): Holy Mass is at 7.30 a.m. and at 6 p.m. Confessions are before the morning Mass and from 4.30 p.m. This Wednesday, after the evening Mass, there will be the last encounter for parishioners, to meditate and eat bread and socialise afterwards, which takes place in the hall of John Paul II. The hosts are employees of the parish office and Information Centre.

 

Holy Thursday, March 24– This is the day of the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood. There will be no confessions in the morning nor Holy Mass. The Rosary will be at 5 p.m. and solemn Holy Mass at 6 p.m. After Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place until midnight. Confessions will be from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. 


Good Friday, March 25– The Friday of the Passion of our Lord. There will be no Holy Mass or service in the morning. The Way of the Cross for parishioners and Croatian pilgrims will be at 11 a.m. on Cross Mountain. The Rosary will be at 5 p.m. The service of Good Friday and Veneration of the Cross will be at 6 p.m. The Cross is at the centre of this day and the faithful are encouraged to meditate on the passion, death and burial of our Lord. Good Friday is a day of strict fasting. Note: According to the decree of our Bishop’s Ordinate, all alms collected on Good Friday are intended for Holy Land. Confession will be from 4 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. 


Holy Saturday - Easter Vigil, March 26– Holy Saturday is a day of fasting and prayer at the grave of our Lord. There will be no service in the morning in the church.  The Rosary will be at 8 p.m. and the Easter Vigil begins at 9 p.m. Confession will be from 7.30 - 8.30 p.m. The prayer programme will be broadcasted live on Radio Mir.

Easter Sunday, March 27- Holy Mass in Croatian will be at 7, 8 and 11 a.m. and at 6 p.m.
