Fifteen years of prayer community the Queen of Peace in Pula

date: 05.02.2015.

Pilgrims from Pula and Istria, grateful to God and Gospa, after 34 years of Our Lady’s apparitions have recalled their trips to Our Lady, the Queen of Peace. Many of them have been coming since the beginning and so many of them were witnesses of abundant graces they received through Our Lady’s intercession. Inspired by the prayer communities from Medjugorje, Siroki Brijeg and the whole world, fifteen years ago they felt calling to found their own prayer community. Thanks to Mr. Eli Karlovic, group leader, to some priests and pilgrims, they began to meet once a month, every last Thursday in the month. On that occasion, they would share the recent message of Our Lady along with mediation. The prayer programme would be similar to the one in Medjugorje – Holy Mass and the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. That is what began 15 years ago and lasts until today, all for the glory of God and joy of many who are gathering. The community that meets in the Franciscan parish of St. John in Pula can be recognised not just by the fruits of their prayers, but also by their strong involvement in the liturgical and charity life of the parish, as well as by the organising of pilgrimages to Medjugorje, when many old as well as new pilgrims gladly come. This community celebrated their 15the anniversary last November together with pilgrims from Zminj parish. Their parish priest celebrated Holy Mass along with Franciscans from the local parish, and many pilgrims from the area of Pula came for that celebration. Afterwards, joyful celebration continued in the monastery with music and songs. There are many other prayer communities in Istria that are also engaged in organisation of pilgrimages to the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje.
