Fr. Ante Vuckovic, with 41 priests concelebrating, celebrated the solemn Holy Mass on the Feast of Corpus Christi. Fr. Slavko Soldo led the prayer of the Rosary. As in the previous years, the procession with the Blessed Sacrament followed on the streets of Medjugorje with many priests, religious and nuns, parishioners and pilgrims. The Procession, in music, prayer and readings of the Holy Scripture finished with the solemn blessing of all participants with the Blessed Sacrament.
Many groups of pilgrims arrived to Medjugorje on this Feast from Italy, Germany, Austria, France, Ireland, Ukraine, Spain, England, the United States, Slovenia, Korea, Slovakia and Poland. There were 14 Holy Masses celebrated and four in Croatian language. This Feast was at the same time opportunity for the sacrament of Confirmation for 66 boys and girls. Also, at the same time, it was the beginning of Novena on Apparition Hill, with the Rosary at 4 pm, as thanksgiving to Our Lady, the Queen of Peace, for 36 years of her apparitions. The Pilgrimage for Persons with Disabilities began also on this day. (photos)
