Confirmation in Medjugorje and Holy Mass for the Pope Benedict XVI

date: 24.04.2005.

On Sunday, April 24, 2005, 93 candidates received in Medjugorje the sacrament of Confirmation from the hands of Mons. Ratko Peric, bishop of Mostar. Liturgical celebration began with a procession and the solemn entry into the church of the bishop, the priests and the candidates. Holy Mass was presided by Mons. Peric in concelebration with Fr. Branko Rados, parish priest, Fr. Petar Vlasic, parish vicar, and four other priests. The big parish choir was singing during mass. On behalf of the candidates, one girl greeted the bishop, and Fr. Branko greeted him on behalf of the parish. This Holy Mass was celebrated at the same time in thanksgiving for the election of the new Pope Benedict XVI; this was also the theme of the homily given by the bishop. Holy Mass ended with singing of the Te Deum. After Mass, Mons. Peric remained at the presbytery for lunch.
