The Feast of Mary, Mother of God, we celebrate in Medjugorje gained one special meaning. Our parish intensively lives Marian devotion and honours the Mother of God as the Queen of Peace.
Wholeheartedly, I thank his Excellency, the Apostolic Nuncio Mons. Luigi Pezzuto, for his presence among us and for being the main celebrant of two main Holy Masses – midnight Holy Mass and the central Holy Mass. Mons. Henryk Jagodzinski, who celebrates today his 50th birthday, is here with us too, and may you have a happy birthday monsignor! Participation of the Apostolic Nuncio at this feast in Medjugorje strongly points to the pastoral care of Pope Francis towards this place of the international pilgrimages and towards parishioners whose faith is deep.
Besides this, I also thank Provincial, Fr. Miljenko Steko, who joined us today, as well as all the Franciscans, custodians of the parish of St. James.
To each of you, I am wishing you wishes for this new time: happiness, joy, lots of hope for peaceful life throughout the whole Year of the Lord, 2019! The Queen of Peace, pray for us!
