“Medjugorje is a place of prayer”

date: 04.10.2013.

The Feast of St. Francis, the founder of the Franciscan Order was solemnly celebrated in Medjugorje on Friday, October 4, 2013. The traditional service “Memoria Transitus” was held after the evening Holy Mass on October 3, 2013 at the White Dome of St. James’ church. Fr. Stanko Cosic celebrated Holy Mass and conducted that service during the Vigil Holy Mass. Many pilgrims who came to Medjugorje this October were present and the Information Office registered groups from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Australia, England, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, Vietnam, Singapore and Puerto Rico. We had opportunity to talk to Marijan Vojtasik, 94-years old priest from Poland. He spoke about his life, friendship with Holy Father John Paul II and his experience of Medjugorje. He is coming here for the last twenty years. “We have everyday programme in Medjugorje, we were on Apparition Hill and it was not easy to climb that Hill, but I feel I am needed here in Medjugorje. This is a place of prayer and it is so beautiful to see so many priests celebrating Holy Mass in the evening. One can really feel Gospa’s grace”, said Fr. Marijan who shared with us that he regularly reads Gospa’s messages.
