“IN ODIUM FIDEI – Out of hatred towards the faith“ documentary shown in Medjugorje

date: 29.03.2015.

The four day promotional screening of the documentary "IN ODIUM FIDEI – Out of hatred towards the faith “, produced by Laudato MediaCcentre, ended in Medjugorje on Saturday, March 28, 2015, when the film was shown in the Hall of St. John Paul II. The film speaks about 66 Herzegovinian Franciscans who were murdered in 1945. Many people were gathered for this event, organised by the parish of St. James and the Matica Hrvatska Association, Citluk branch. The parish priest, Fr. Marinko Sakota, greeted all present and said: “I thank the Laudato production team for this. Tonight we are gathered to watch a film which deals with serious crimes and we, as Christians, would like to watch it with the disposition that Christians are suppose to have when they recall the Holy Bible. We would like to remember but we would like to forgive as well! We remember something that encourages us to firm faith, and not to hatred“, said Fr. Marinko.  The documentary producer, Ksenija Abramović, said that Laudato was breaking the silence that had lasted for several decades as well as the tendency of historical forgetfulness which was systematically imposed by the communist regime. The director and screenwriter of the documentary, Nada Prkačin, said: “This documentary was not made in order to teach you something, but the intention was to create and maintain Croatian values which accord with your memories. Thank you for having shown us how to love God, protect the family and love the homeland above all. Today we live in a time when it is not so easy to protect the family, but we know that it was never easy. Thank you for having shown us how to do it with love. Our desire was to return that love to you by making this documentary.“ (laudato.hr/medjugorje.hr)
